How to Take Care of Rose Plant in Rainy Season
1.Fungal attack
During the rainy season, roses are susceptible to fungal attacks that lead to stem and root rotting. To prevent this, don’t let the plant stay wet feet for long. Also, applying fungicide from time to time is the best way to take care of fungal issues. Refer to the instruction label for dosage.
2. Weeding
If you have grown roses in the garden bed, then make sure to weed the area thoroughly before the onset of the monsoon. The wild grasses and the weeds not only compete for the nutrients but also serve as hosts for pests and fungus.
3. Keep Pests and Insects at Bay
Spray the rose plant with neem oil solution, soap solution, or insecticides. Spray it once every 14 days during the monsoon to take care of pests on the plants.
4.Trimming and Pruning
If there are any dead, broken, or diseased branches, snip them off at a 45-degree angle using sanitized shear to avoid any potential diseases and infections.
5.Drainage
To avoid waterlogging, use a garden bed. You can also create a soakaway trench in the garden.
6. Water Right
You will hardly need to water your rose plant during the rainy season. Since the plants naturally have access to sufficient water, and unlike other plants, roses prefer a dry and hot environment more.
