Gardening for Beginners
Minimum effort, maximum effect 🙌🏻

This is my mantra when it comes to vegetable gardening. The best satisfaction is growing those expensive veggies at home with minimal maintenance and effort. I’ve decided to do a deep dive into some of my favourite crops I grow every year as they are so easy, reliable, and save $$ at the supermarket checkout.

Climbing or runner beans are brilliant for beginners, and an excellent one for children to get involved with. Whether you purchase seedlings or grow your own from seed, I guarantee success on these!!

🌱 PLACEMENT – full sun or partial shade with good drainage. Try growing in 40/80L pots!
🌱 SOIL – slightly acidic, little bit of clay is fine, plenty of well composted organic matter
🌱 CLIMBING SPACE – get creative!! I have used an old washing line for my super simple set up. Try recycling an old umbrella frame, making a teepee from tall bamboo stakes and wire, or giving new life to old meshing. No need for fancy store bought solutions here!
🌱 MAINTENANCE- water well, liquid feed with seaweed based fertilizer every few weeks and keep an eye out for sap sucking pests and fungus. I like to preventative spray myself.

Am working on a more in depth long form piece to cover more.. let me know in the comments if you have anything specific you want me to cover 💚
