Container gardening is ideal for starting plants in summer for fall growing and autumn harvest. Moving from hot summer temperatures to cooler weather provides conditions that many plants can benefit from. When freezing autumn nights threaten, portable containers give gardeners the chance to move tender plants to warmer protected areas to keep plants alive.
