Gardening for Beginners
Welcome to our friends garden tour from our allotment gardening for beginners series. In this tour of our friends garden we discuss back garden vegetable gardening without an allotment. Allotment gardening in the UK is very popular but not everyone has an allotment in the UK so growing vegetables in the back garden is important.

This back garden has already been used for some vegetable gardening but now Jacqui no longer has an allotment it will become more important. If you have a new allotment or new urban garden it can be a great step towards self sufficiency. Today we discuss some gardening ideas for the home garden but the ideas could be the same at a new allotment in the UK.

We discuss how to start a garden in your backyard. Urban gardening is great for fruits like tomatoes as they like the extra warmth overnight that we get around houses. Urban gardening is also helped by the high fences and variety of pollinators around. Vegetable gardeners are always looking for ways to become more self sufficient for vegetables. Having a backyard garden is a great way to extend the season of an allotment as the micro climates will be different.
