Gardening for Beginners
Today we look at how to plant dahlias in our UK allotment garden. We grow dahlias for cut flowers on the allotment and with allotment gardening for beginners we encourage growing some cut flowers as part of your allotment. Today we are taking the dahlia bulbs out of winter storage ready to plant in the ground.

If you have a new allotment then consider growing dahlia tubers in the ground or in pots for cut flowers. They are easy to grow and come back each year with minimal effort. Allotment gardening is more than just growing food to eat for us.

We grow dahlia bulbs for cut flowers to use in our home or give as gifts. This reduces our dependance on plastics and supermarkets. If we want to give cut flowers as a special gift we can then use a local florist and keep the business local to our town. Dahlias make a great gift for most occasions and they continue to bloom all summer and autumn until the first frost.
