The UK allotment in March is much more fun as we have a lot of new growth and planting to be done. The winter jobs are over and we are looking ahead to growing some good fruit and vegetables. If you have a new allotment or growing your own vegetables in a home garden then we aim to help. We will guide a new allotment holder or back yard gardener with some tips from our own allotment and back garden.
This tour will inspire you to grow vegetables at home or on an allotment. To grow your own food is rewarding at home in an urban garden in a vegetable patch or on an allotment. We can grow a lot of our own food and become more self sufficient with a little practice. In the UK a new allotment holder or new gardener can achieve a lot in their first year of growing.

The rhubarb has grown a lot since our February allotment tour. We could even start to harvest from it already. We have some March planting to do today and we are planting some onion sets in the soil ready for the spring. Planting in March can be done in the ground as long as the soil has warmed up.
